Favorite place in Amherst! They have the best boneless and bone in chicken wings! Their Juliette beer is also out of this world!
Update: Back in the area, ordered some boneless Honey mustard (extra saucy) & garlic parmesan, seasoned waffle fries, bone in mango habanero with blue cheese dip for pickup over the phone. Service was excellent. The food came out really great and was much better than last time. The bone in wings were pretty large and saucy. I enjoyed it so much that I had to order again a few days later (though at a different location) My old recommendations remain (boneless Honey mustard and garlic parmesan) but would like to add boneless mango habanero into my hall of Fame. Oh and off course the house made blue cheese cant be beat. Well done Hangar, well done! Old review: Back in Amherst, have to hit up my favs. Coming off the Covid restrictions and right before school starts, the place is packed with a 2 hour wait. Decided to do takeout to avoid the crowds. Got the Skymaster with my usuals - Honey Mustard and Garlic Parmesan, blue cheese dip. Waffle fries. Found a place to sit nearby. Ready to chow down, opened up the boxes and here's my honest opinion- 1. There were barely any honey mustard sauce! (See pic) Why you do me wrong like that bro??? 2. I noticed they are doing takeout in paper boxes. This explains the lack of sauce as it would seep through the bottom. Before they were in heavy duty black plasticy boxes. Score 1 for the environment, 0 for my taste buds. 3. The waffle fries did not travel well. Pretty soggy and sad looking after a 10 min drive. 4. The Garlic Parmesan seasoning was saltier than usual. 5. While the chicken was freshy cooked, it was dried out on the inside and the prior lack of sauciness really hurt. 6. Blue cheese as good as before! So unfortunately, the food this time around wasn't the best. With that said, the flavor profile I was craving was met and everything was fresh and the server I spoke to was super nice despite being so busy so I'm rounding up to 4 stars. Just wish ya'll didn't dry up the chicken and screw me on the honey mustard sauce!!
Best wings in the valley! Five stars. Had a blast for my birthday party. They got us a table fro the group. Had a birthday cake but forgoet a lighter - the staff was very friendly and provided a lighter for the birthday candles!
We went in for a early dinner over the weekend and it was superb! Place isn't much to look at but the service is relaxed, friendly and very good. Beer listing and menu is huge and the food fantastic! The chicken wings were great and the portions huge. I got the DC3 wings with the pulled pork which was enough to feed a couple of people. The pretzels are the size of a kids head and the waffle fries amazing.
I love it here! My fave casual dinner spot, perfect for adventures with kiddos & friends and date nights alike. Google says it’s ale & pub fare served in a two story restaurant, but it has moved from a 2 story building in downtown Amherst, to a one story location on University drive. Two Amherst favorites: ABC (Amherst brewing company) and “Wings over Amherst” have come together to create The Hangar: the best synergy of beer, fun and amazing food (especially the wings)! I love the bar (great bartenders- shout out to Steve) and the pool tables/ arcade games are fun too. It’s a good date night place but it’s also fun to come with family/ kids for dinner. They have events like trivia night. I got the nachos last time, and it was seriously delicious with the pork. Try the toasted coconut, barley wine, The Jess, Orange creamsicle and the Chelsea beers! Yum 😋 10/10!
Can't go wrong with a good dinner at the hanger! I got fried pickles and fried zucchini for appetizers. For my meal I got the best of all, honey mustard for the boneless and jet fuel for the bone in with waffle fries of course!
i used the Hangars own delivery option for my order of wings. it was fast & hot and i didnt even need to use an account. with doordash the same 747 wouldve cost me $40 without tip, using hangars in house ordering it was $30 with tip. glad to find hangar still delicious & professional. thanks
Had another wonderful time at the Hangar! Food was amazing. We chose 4 flavors and they certainly didn’t disappoint! The chicken was moist, well seasoned and serving was generous. Beer was fabulous, food was awesome and service was super friendly and attentive - nothing else you can ask for! I highly recommend ALL the IPAs. Amherst Brewing is churning out world class beer!
Excellent place for chicken wings! They are crispy and not overly breaded! There are so many flavors! Definitely recommend the dry rub flavors! Service was great!
